Okay, I have to be honest. I literally LOVE these jeans. I never thought too much about investing in expensive jeans, thinking "hey, all jeans must be created equal" but that is so far from the truth. The flexibility of premium denim is unmatched, not to mention quality stitching. I love the classic shading on the jeans and distressed is my next target. This is certainly one of many pairs of premium brand jeans that I will soon own. I've seen the promise land. So now, let's do the math:

Average pair of jeans: $50 (Lifecycle: 6 months if washed 1x a month)

assuming you wore the denim 1x a week,

Cost per wear: $2.08 for 6 months

Premium Denim jeans: $150 (Lifecycle: 2-3 years if washed 1x a month - do not dry premium denim in the dryer!)

assuming you wore the denim 1x a week,

Cost per wear: $1.44 for 2 years, and only $.96 if you keep the jeans for 3 years

I'm going to put together a guide to premium denim because I get a lot of questions about it. As someone who is new to this world and very skeptical about purchasing high-end jeans it was something that I was nervous about too. In terms of quality, longevity, fit, and creation - some things just don't compare! I'll share a guide on the blog soon!

These last few days have been such a blur and due to a lack of sleep (& wi-fi) I wasn't able to blog at all! I hope you all were able to follow my trip to Chicago for my dance competition through Instagram. My team and I had been preparing for this since June and we just finished the 3 day national competition in Chicago. I'm happy to announce that we came in 2nd place and brought home the silver medal! The first place team was comprised of a great group of guys who happen to also be from ATL and good friends of mine - so even more to celebrate! I sincerely enjoyed being back on the stage after 3 years, and can't wait to keep the traditional alive for next year -- but in the meantime, being back on a schedule sounds pretty stellar.

MINT SHIFT DRESS

I've always been a fan of shift dresses (seen here), and the color mint - so a combination of the two seemed like a no-brainer. I will say that a drop waist detail on a shift dress style is probably not the best idea. This dress is gorgeous, but shift dresses are made to be boxy and that's part of their charm. Sometimes, I feel like I should just design clothes myself,

maybe someday. 

Also, it's Monday, St.Patrick's Day, and Mint is a shade of green. If anyone pinches me, it's on.

 List of things that are overrated:

-Yoga: As calming and relaxing as yoga can be, there can be much better use of your time, in terms of fitness. I did however once end up in a Hatha yoga class which felt a lot more like a therapy session (not that i'm complaining) and thoroughly enjoyed it. All i'm saying is that if there isn't a "hot" or "fusion" in front of the word, you'd be better off subbing the yoga class for a latin flavored Zumba one.

-Poetry: Are we about that age when we all admit that we had absolutely no idea what any type of poetry that we read meant? I mean unless it rhymes, it's not a poem. #sorrynotsorry

-The Mona Lisa: Have you ever been to Paris? Have you waited in the ridiculously long line to get into the Louve? Only to skip all of the amazing art and follow the signs to the one painting that you really came for... and then found out its an 8.5 x 11? C'mon Da Vinci, do better. 

-Turning 21: Do I really need to explain? Unless you can rent a car legally & without obscene fees, you are not a full adult. No need for the long speeches about how this is a pivital time in your life. 

-Whole Foods: The aisles really are so small. How do people make it to the checkout without fainting of claustrophobia is the real question. Also, do you really need organic Pineapple? Try a farmer's market next time.

I've been experimenting with mixing different shades of the same color for ...wait for it... multiple pops of color! Mind-blowing, I know. This look features two different shades of red which is a great compliment to any shade of green, mint being no exception. Here, I paired the blouse with a candy red braided belt and wine peep-toe heels. This look is great for a casual day at the office or lunch with friends.

After 3 months of rain, summer is finally showing it's colors in Atlanta! This adorable denim-inspired dress is the perfect summer staple. Easily dressed up with heels or down with printed flats, the versatility in this piece is endless! 

I have always been envious of bloggers who can rock the perfect ballerina bun and make it work with everything they wear (i.e. Wendy over at Wendy's Lookbook). I figured that it's just not my thing. Turns out, I was doing it all wrong! Over the weekend, I used a different technique & a professional hair donut and voila, magically beautiful (and easy) ballerina bun. You will be seeing this look, a lot more!
