I've been growing out my hair for as long as I can remember. My hair has always grown slowly, so i've treasured the length since high school. With my wedding only a few month away (oh my gosh!) I am so excited to have my hair beautifully done. However, i'm even more excited for one thing (post wedding) ---my haircut! I've been eyeing the 'clavicut' for months years! It will quite literally be the first thing I do after the wedding - maybe even before the honeymoon.

Happy Monday, I hope you all missed me as much as I missed you. It was a crazy weekend with some wonderful food and even better family/friends. We hosted a welcome dinner for our bridal party on Friday evening, which was such a great experience. It had been so long since we had so many of our close friends in the same room - but if it was any indication of what the next year will be like, I can't wait! I'm looking forward to sharing pictures from the event with you on the blog sometime this week.

Fishtails & polkadots are the perfect ingredients for a summer ensemble, and this outfit is no exception. My week away for work is coming to an end and i'm ready to return to the promise land, which is my hometown of course. The forecast this weekend calls for date nights and frozen yogurt. TGIF my loves.

GOT THE BLUES' - Chambray & Boyfriend Blazer

I got so many comments asking me how my braid was so, well, fluffy. It's a subtle difference, but there are three steps for a more dramatic side braid. Step 1) Part your hair on the opposite side of your natural part, if you have a center part (lucky!) just choose the side that feels most unnatural and create a deep side part. Step 2) Braid your hair starting with the group furthest away from your face. This will create that little bang pocket near your face. Step 3) Pull the braid apart, gently. Try flattening pieces of the braid by tugging at the strands. This is the key to a fuller, fluffier braid. Voilà!

MIXING PRINTS

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Mine was as always far too short and not nearly as productive as I wanted it to be, but all's well that ends well. This dress was a gift from my sweet (future) brother-in-law for Christmas and i've been loving wearing it a few different ways. Shift dresses paired with wedges shift the ensemble from cushy to casual. Try it out!

Okay, i'm not gonna lie. This 30x30 is getting hard. Not because i'm running out of outfits, I actually feel pretty good right about now, but because I miss my other clothes. There are beautiful silk blouses and printed pencil skirts that call my name every morning when I look into my closet. Instead, I have to pick out solid colored pieces. It's a sinister tease. 

If it wasn't for my "you can wear whatever you want in the evening" clause, i'd probably be loosing it. Next time around, I need to invest in a hanging wardrobe and only put the select 30 pieces on that rack. Out of sight, out of mind... right?
