DASHING STRIPES

Striped Sweater: F21 - Similar Here - $20   //   Boyfriend Jeans: AEO - Same Here - $45   //
Red Wallet: Onlineshoes.com - Same Here - $88   //   Nude Heels: F21 - Similar Here - $50

Happy Memorial Day weekend! This look is ready for the casual weekend ahead which for me will be enticed with family, friends, food, and fun. I've wanted a pair of boyfriend jeans for years, but somehow the fit was never right. When I stumbled upon these "straight" jeans from AEO, the fit was more "boyfriend" on me. The subtle deconstruction keeps the look casual, and perfect for what I was looking for.

Enjoy the weekend lovelies, I hope your glass stays full, the sunshine remains endless, and your bbq grill stays lit.

GOT THE BLUES' - Chambray & Boyfriend Blazer

I got so many comments asking me how my braid was so, well, fluffy. It's a subtle difference, but there are three steps for a more dramatic side braid. Step 1) Part your hair on the opposite side of your natural part, if you have a center part (lucky!) just choose the side that feels most unnatural and create a deep side part. Step 2) Braid your hair starting with the group furthest away from your face. This will create that little bang pocket near your face. Step 3) Pull the braid apart, gently. Try flattening pieces of the braid by tugging at the strands. This is the key to a fuller, fluffier braid. Voilà!

What's your favorite beauty trick?

#InAnotherLife - Part One

Grey Top - AEO - Similar Here & Here -$18  //  Jeans - AEO - Same Here - $30  //
Boots: c/o OnlineShoes.com - Same Here - $160  //  Pashmina Scarf - Similar Here - $48

#InAnotherLife
I spent between 3-4 hours last night playing with graphics. What started as an innocent color palette experience turned into a full-blown "Save The Date" design. I was pretty proud of myself when I finally did go to bed around 2 AM, but realized that I will probably change my mind tomorrow and shouldn't put so much time into this. I really enjoy working with patterns, colors, and creating logos. An average weeknight consist of designing new headers, buttons, or logos for this blog and now more recently my wedding stationary. I may have become a Graphic Designer #InAnotherLife

The icons of fall fashion are slipping though our fingertips and I am holding on for as long as possible. For me, it's either boots or summer dresses - all this in between nonsense is cramping my style. Pick a season weather gods.

THE LOOK FOR LESS: KIM KARDASHIAN

Top - J.Crew - $30  //  Jeans - AEO - $50  //  Sunglasses - Sole Society - $25  //  Boots - Charlotte Russe - $25

My favorite looks are those that shout minimalism, and this look by Kimmy K is just that. Although, I was much more a fan of Kimmy's fashion a la 2011 B.K (Before Kayne) - this outfit is back to her signature look sans boyfriend blazer. The best part? It's incredible easy to recreate and you most likely have all the pieces in your closet already.

Tip. A hint of leopard immediately makes neutral outfit more stylish!

ARMY STRONG - 30X30 - Day 4

Green Vest: Old Navy - Same Here - $50 // Boots - Same Here - c/o OnlineShoes.com - $160 //
Boyfriend Jeans - Same Here - $30 // Nike Fuelband Rose Gold - Same Here - $169 // Top: Express - Same Here - $35

It's Day 4 of my 30 x 30 challenge and so far it is still going strong. I have learned a few things along the way and here is one. I realized that when I picked out the 30 pieces I wanted, they were the ones I had been wearing often and were on my mind. Now that I am trying to put those pieces together into outfits, i'm realizing that I have already worn so many of the outfits that could have been part of my 30 x 30. Here are a few of my favorites:

Of course, I cannot repeat as per the 30 x 30 Style Challenge Rules or else the Style Gods will frown upon this (or just Kendi). Lesson here? Choose your 30 different items, then your usual to be a part of the challenge.

Happy New Year readers!

From my last post you know that I am beginning my 30 x 30 Style Remix today. I am energized and ready to take on this challenge. For my first look, I decided to go for layers and pair my cashmere sweater with a classic plaid button down. I was both warm & chic. The gold details were my favorite touch between the bangles and collared necklace.

I'm hoping the 30 x 30 causes me to rethink styling and the possibilities... plus, I should also be able to take advantage of my endless collection of scarves. You can see all my 30 x 30 picks, here

Till tomorrow,

MULTIPLE POPS OF COLOR: Mint + Shades of Red

Blouse: LC @Kohls - Similar Here -  $35
Jeans: A&F - Same Here - $39
Red Belt: F21 - Similar Here - $25
Wine Heels: F21 - Similar Here - $50

I've been experimenting with mixing different shades of the same color for ...wait for it... multiple pops of color! Mind-blowing, I know. This look features two different shades of red which is a great compliment to any shade of green, mint being no exception. Here, I paired the blouse with a candy red braided belt and wine peep-toe heels. This look is great for a casual day at the office or lunch with friends.
