I've been so into the the dark wine lipstick these days, that I forgot how great a simple red can look - especially on a bold color like blue. This is one of my favorite tops that I picked up a few years ago at Kohls from the Apt. 9 collection, the way it flows on me really works for my body style and the $20 price tag didn't hurt either. BUT the real stunner here is the Chain Bib Necklace from Purple Peridot. Baublebar has a similar necklace called the "Courtney" that is about 3x the cost of this one, but equally as divine. My girlfriend, Kirsten, was wearing it when we went to the Suja Juice event a few weeks ago, over a casual grey sweater and skinny jeans -- I fell in love with it! 

Fashion inspiration can come from anywhere, but the best is when it comes from your girlfriends-- thanks Kirsten!

I've been familiar with Vera Bradley for as long as I can remember. Middle school - stationary, High school - travel bags, and College - I.D. holding wristlets [phone, keys, ID, money - right]. Now that i'm mid-millennial what I look to from brands has also evolved. I'm not ready for a stuffy black leather work bag. Instead Vera's products are professional and pretty and don't worry - the lining stays true to the printed patterns that we all know and love. 

This young adult market is Vera Bradley's prime target for their new line of handbags. Women who want the fun of the brand identity, with the function of their products. Vera Bradley bags withstand the test of time and their stitching pattern is unmatched. After meeting the co-founder herself a few months back, I was sold back into the brand and particularly supporting of their new image. 

Clearly, i'm not alone. This gorgeous cross-body bag is sold out in fuschia, but not to fret - the other colors are just as vibrant. The best part? They don't break the bank! This beauty is only $78. I know, it's a steal. What do you think about the new line of handbags from VB?

As Fall is approaching, i'm starting to see my wardrobe in a new light. Identifying which pieces can be repurposed for different seasons. For example, I can see this skirt with a  dark grey cable knit sweater and short stacked brown booties - voila. Fall Ready. While we are on the topic of this skirt, it's probably my favorite piece that i've bought this season. I picked it up at a J.Crew Outlet a few months ago and get this, it's still available! The skirt is $33 online - run don't walk here.

So when I wore this outfit, there were different things that people asked me about. "Where is that skirt from?" Chicwish, you should check them out! "How do you get your hair to stay?" H&M Hair Donut. "Did you retouch your lipstick?" Not once since 7 AM. ELF Matte Lip Crayon - I swear by it. But my favorite question was "Where did you get your necklace?" eBay - $4. I couldn't wait to find the right outfit for this necklace and this skirt sealed the deal. I posted about buying eBay jewels before here, and have gotten so many messages from you guys telling me what a great discovery it was! I still pick up a few pieces from time to time so i'll have to do a full review once I have a collection to share.

So, this adorable hair piece was an eBay find (you'll be seeing quite a few of those, I went on a binge!) and I absolutely adore it. -- Also, it's $3. I know. The gold chains perfectly compliment a simple updo like the ballerina bun. All you need for this look is a hair donut (love this one at H&M) & a gold hair accessory. Remember to curl the ends of your hair for a cleaner bun.

I picked up this piece, 2 other headbands, and a few other accessories about three weeks ago, so naturally they are all trickling in. Stay tuned for more eBay finds.

Happy Memorial Day weekend! This look is ready for the casual weekend ahead which for me will be enticed with family, friends, food, and fun. I've wanted a pair of boyfriend jeans for years, but somehow the fit was never right. When I stumbled upon these "straight" jeans from AEO, the fit was more "boyfriend" on me. The subtle deconstruction keeps the look casual, and perfect for what I was looking for.
