GREY LACE + MUSTARD SKIRT - 30X30 - Day 8

Lace Top: F21 - Similar Here & Here - $12  //  Mustard Skirt: H&M - Similar Here -  $28
Red Belt: F21 - Similar Here - $23  //  Brown Heels: Guess - Similar Here - $43

It seems to me that when we get older, we somehow - inexplicably - start to turn into our parents. At what point did "I can't believe they are so lame" turn into "Wow mom, your right, baking banana nut bread on a Saturday night is a great idea!" It baffles me. I see misbehaving children and immediately resist the innate urge to scold them. But wait, that was me. Truth is, that along with the shortage of social skills and genuine lack of energy there are also some wonderful parts to becoming your parents. For example:

- We can learn to cook real dishes. Like with meat and sautéed vegetables.. what?
- Being able to recover things that we ruined in the laundry. Shrunk? Pink Socks?
You. Can. Handle. It.
-You realize what a Nazi you are when it comes to household chores. The direction utensils are put into the dishwasher, the importance of dusting on a regular basis, and never -ever- sleeping past 10 AM on the weekends.
- Developing this "anything is possible" attitude. My mother raised us as a single mom, and she learned to fix plumbing, kill ridiculously scary bugs, and create anything she needed.
My intuitive sense of "DIY" definitely comes from her.
(although i'm still working on the killing bugs part)

The future looks bright.

PURPLE LACE TUNIC: Fall Fashion for Less

Lace Tunic - F21 - Same Here or Similar - $30

Black Leggings - F21 - Similar Here - $4

Boots: c/o Online Shoes - Same or Similar - $43

You may remember this tunic from my 5 Style Necessities post a few weeks ago, and while I was rounding up my picks for you -- I had to get this one for me. The length is a bit long which isn't necessarily bad because I do enjoy being able to pull a cute top over leggings. Voila! However, the beautiful lace detail makes me want to  be able to tuck this top into a skirt for a more business casual look and my gut tells me that the excess fabric will make it look bulky.

My favorite way to accessorize a simple look like this is with few bold pieces of jewelry. I opted for a thicker gold hoop earring and love the way it accents the purple in the top.

I can't wait to play with this tunic more and hopefully it comes back in stock so you all can pick one up too!

B. STRONG: Lavender Lace Shorts

Lavender Lace Shorts: Here ($49)
Chambray Blouse: Here ($18) - White Peplum: Here ($44) - Black Boyfriend Blazer: Here ($50)

I've arrived in Boston! I'll be spending the next 5 days in this beautiful city and can't wait to share my style inspiration with you. Boston is such a fun place filled with energetic people. Yesterday was sunny and I caught a glimpse of the Bostonian Summer Style so here is something I put together. It's my first 1 Piece - 3 Ways and today will feature these beautiful lavender lace shorts from Club Monoco.

It's really important for my wardrobe to be versatile because when I invest in a piece I have to visualize how I can wear it. These shorts are great because they can be dressed up, down, and all around. The key is to compliment them not only with different tops but also different styles. Under each top you can see how I would wear them, and hopefully this will inspire you to see your wardrobe a little differently.

How would you wear these?

Hodgepodge

Jeans: Spain, Top: F21, Necklace: Egypt (gifted), Shoes: GoJane, Bracelet: France

This outfit is a hodgepodge of my favorite things: lace, color, statement pieces, and international shopping.
The bracelet on the left however is a special piece that I will talk more about soon.

Happy Hump-Day!
can't wait till Saturday.
