BACK TO THE BASICS: Denim Boyfriend Jacket

Dress: Target - Same Here - $24   //   Denim Jacket - AEO - Similar Here - $50

Happy Thursday Lovelies,
Today is the day! The fiance & I are finally Phillybound to see my sister. I'm excited to see a new city and have a nice vacation. So far the bucket list includes licking seeing the LIberty Bell, having a Philly Cheesesteak, & munching on some Philadelphia cream cheese. Am I missing anything? Would love your suggestions!

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST: DEJA VU

Blazer   //   Dress   //   Heels   //   Bangle   //   Tank

I have to be honest, I hesitated a lot when creating this post. Usually every Wednesday I share my latest source of inspiration with you all. Whether it's colorful clutches or thrifty jewels - there is always something new to share. This post however, is troublesome because earlier in the year I shared a Wednesday Wishlist: Stripes Edition with you. While the trend is the same, the pieces are entirely different and I believe, this really speaks to what a versatile trend this is. Whether it's during winter woes or summertime sunshine, stripes always work. I actually picked up the maxi dress on the bottom left for myself from Target last week and that was the source of my inspiration. I find myself carrying my Kate Spade tote almost daily and am absolutely obsessed. What can I say, i'm really digging the stripes right now (plus they go great with my NYX wine lipstick!)

What's your latest source of inspiration? Are you into the stripes or more of a dot person?

Camouflage: Taupe Colored Maxi Dress with Crochet Back

Dress: F21, Necklace: Sample Sale

Maxi Fever. That's what i'll call it.
a word of advice: screw the rules.
Who said petite girls can rock the floor-length look?

Top 5 Fashion Rules to Break

5. Matching Your Belt & Shoes
If there was ever a stupid rule, this was the one. Why in the world
would you want to MATCH the two accessories? Now, have them
compliment each other? Of course. A gold belt with a leopard shoe is
fabulous, as is a teal and dark red belt/shoe combo. Experiment a little.

4. Wearing White After Labor Day
If I had to extract all of the white out of my wardrobe for 6 months,
I would probably die of frustration. White is the optimal color for
winter and with the right accessories it can take your outfit to
another level. It will be a refreshing look from the dull dark
winter shades that are regularly worn.

3. Never Mix Metals In Your Wardrobe
Are you kidding me? I love metals. I feel like it's comparable to
sweets: good in moderation. Rose Gold has become a beautiful
stepping stone between medals and I totally support it 100%.
Silver, bronze, rose gold, & gold bracelets? Yes please!

2. No Black Eyeliner or Red Lipstick during the day
Seriously? No. Those are my two favorite beauty products. Take it away and
we will have a problem. My rule of thumb is generally
if you have a dramatic eye, pair it with a neutral lip and vice-versa. Simple.

1. Petite Girls- Longer Hemlines
The best part about maxi styles is that if you can wear them high-waisted,
you can literally create the illusion of length. By placing a belt as a
cinching element around your torso, you visually shift your waistline
there, elluding to longer legs. Fitting is key and solid or fine patters work best.

Drive By

Maxi Dress: Forever 21, Sweater Wrap: Love21, Earrings: Gifted

I'm all about fads-especially fashion fads. I'm not sure what rock I have been living under for the past two years but now that i've been exposed to the wonder that are maxi styles- I am obsessed. This dress is beautiful and perfect for the summer, but I wanted to be able to wear it for work.  This oatmeal colored wrap was ideal to throw over the maxi (not to mention, it kept me warm in this cold cold building)

Please excuse the "maxi-frenzy" for the next few days. I went on a shopping binge.

MAXI

Long Live the Maxi!
I can't believe I didn't wear these all through fall. Throw a comfy sweater on top of this baby and viola! The perfect autumn outfit! I am going to make a sincere effort to post more polyvore sets. I have recently found some new "blog-spiration" and am going to try to revamp a bit. Any ideas?
