THE MESSY CUFF: Olive Jeans

Whoa, it's been a rough week. I've been in and out of feeling sick all week and can't seem to shake this. The good news it that the weather is finally consistently sweater-weather and being bundled up in public is now acceptable.

I tried two different fall trends in this look. Can you find them? One is the messy cuff. I've mentioned the cuff on my blog before and it wasn't until I went to the Fab'rik denim event, a few weeks ago, that I spoke with other bloggers about methods of cuffing. The messy cuff is made with 2-3 smaller cuffs where you rollup first and then roll halfway down. Here, winging it will work just fine  - but in case you were curious about the different types of cuffs, there is a great tutorial here!

I picked up this sweater dress almost 2 years ago from Forever21. I immediately gravitated towards the subtle color block pattern and was thrilled when I (re)discovered it - tags attached - in the back of my closet this week. Also, I seem to be getting a ton of use out of this Purple Peridot chain bib necklace! It really does go with everything, but weighs down your neck just a bit. Sigh, what can you do? Pain is beauty.

This is actually happening. It's cold outside -- and not like ooh, what a nice breeze cold no, like frigid cold. I swear that anyone who ever moved to Atlanta for it's predictable weather is sorely regretting it. 

I digress. Let's talk about this vest. I know, I know -- and its only $40. When I read the reviews of this piece there were people complaining that the vest had a hood. Are you kidding me? The hood is obviously the best part (eskimo mode optional). Also, if the modest price tag didn't give it away this vest is obviously made of faux fur. 

I've been noticing myself getting more sensitive to animal rights. Not in a Khloe K PETA ad / flour bombing type of way, but I do not believe in skinning for clothing. I love fashion just as much as the next guy significantly more than anyone I know, and this is just something that we can do without.

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST: Printed Tops Under $50

I am a strong believer that you need a few staples in your wardrobe and a good printed blouse is one of them. The easiest version of this is a basic plaid top, like number 1 & 3, for those cable knit sweaters and (faux) fur vests. However, pairing a soft print like number 2 under a black blazer (tucked in) and bold jewelry can take your outfit from boring to bracing in an instant!

If you are a cardigan enthusiast, try a daring print like number 4 or 5 to wear under the cardi of your choice. I would wear a soft grey with number 4 and a mustard yellow with number 5. Add jeans and riding boots to any of these ensembles for an easy chic fall look!

Are you in the process of revamping your fall wardrobe? I'm knee deep in mine and love finding a great deal! These are 5 styles that are gold for fall and you can probably find a lot of them in your closet already. Bring back those elbow patch sweaters (or grab #4 from Zara for $25!) and pull out those chunky sweaters. I bought #9 from Forever 21 for only $30, but you know that I can never refuse lace, and burgundy lace.... -- please stop.

Happy Tuesday readers!

Well, the inevitable is upon us. Fall has fallen and when I woke up to a whopping 45 degrees (Fahrenheit) this morning, I knew it had finally come. The last few weeks of beautiful summer weather had to end (as do all good things) and now it's time to pull out the boots, scarves, and blazers. Not that I am entirely complaining - Autumn is my favorite fashion season. 

In order to give a proper welcome to the months ahead, what do you say to a special Wednesday Wishlist: Boots edition? 

I think it would only be proper.
