THE PERFECT WORK BAG

CASHMERE SWEATER: H&M - SAME HERE - $50   //   OXBLOOD SCARF: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $13   //   PAIGE DENIM: c/o ZAPPOS - SAME HERE - $179   //   FREEBIRD BOOTS: c/o ZAPPOS - SAME HERE - $275  //  PEPLUM TOP: DILLARDS - SIMILAR HERE - $15   //   LAPTOP BAG: eBay - SAME HERE - $25

It took me months. I searched high and low - I went to Target, then I went to Kate Spade and nothing clicked. I wanted a slim, stylish laptop bag but also something that was functional. You know, a laptop pocket & zippers. Why was it so hard to find a good professional bag? Then I finally found it - on eBay! It was perfect and I seriously havent stopped using it since it came in. The only downside was having to wait nearly 3 weeks to get it in. Boo- but alls well that ends well, i'm placing an order for one in navy stat!

Where did you find your perfect work bag?

WHITE LINEN SKIRT + CHAIN BIB NECKLACE

BLOUSE: KOHL'S - SIMILAR HERE & HERE - $40   //   LINEN SKIRT: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $35   //   NUDE D'ORSAY HEELS: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $80   //   CLUTCH: eBAY - SAME HERE - $5   //   CHAIN BIB NECKLACE (COURTNEY): PURPLE PERIDOT - SAME HERE - $26

I've been so into the the dark wine lipstick these days, that I forgot how great a simple red can look - especially on a bold color like blue. This is one of my favorite tops that I picked up a few years ago at Kohls from the Apt. 9 collection, the way it flows on me really works for my body style and the $20 price tag didn't hurt either. BUT the real stunner here is the Chain Bib Necklace from Purple Peridot. Baublebar has a similar necklace called the "Courtney" that is about 3x the cost of this one, but equally as divine. My girlfriend, Kirsten, was wearing it when we went to the Suja Juice event a few weeks ago, over a casual grey sweater and skinny jeans -- I fell in love with it!

Fashion inspiration can come from anywhere, but the best is when it comes from your girlfriends-- thanks Kirsten!

J. CREW STYLE

TOP: OLD NAVY - SIMILAR HERE - $66   //   SKIRT: JCREW - SAME HERE - $33   //
CLUTCH: EBAY - SAME HERE - $5   //   HEELS: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $29
As Fall is approaching, i'm starting to see my wardrobe in a new light. Identifying which pieces can be repurposed for different seasons. For example, I can see this skirt with a  dark grey cable knit sweater and short stacked brown booties - voila. Fall Ready. While we are on the topic of this skirt, it's probably my favorite piece that i've bought this season. I picked it up at a J.Crew Outlet a few months ago and get this, it's still available! The skirt is $33 online - run don't walk here

LEOPARD + GREEN

Black Sweater: Express - Same Here (sold out), Similar Here - $55   //   Boyfriend Jeans: AEO - Same Here - $20 (On Sale!)   //   Leopard Pumps: DSW - Same Here - $70   //   Green Clutch: eBay - Same Here - $5

Happy Monday! I finally had a chance to get out of town and enjoy a day (and a half) at the beach. My favorite part? Well, we spent the morning playing in the waves, laying by the pool, and finally relaxing in the jacuzzi. Some afternoon showers cut out beach day short and we headed in around lunchtime to avoid the storms passing through. After a brief lunch and nap I woke up to a quiet condo and headed over to the wrap-around balcony with a blanket and a book. I finally made more progress reading "The Fault In Our Stars" than I had made in weeks at home. Watching the rain come down with a view of the beach was so serene, it was absolutely breathtaking!

Now it's counting down the days till the next vaca...

ANNE KLEIN: The Perfect Work Dress

Dress: Anne Klein - Similar Here - $50   //   Heels: Guess - Same Here - $60   //   Clutch: eBay - Same Here - $5

So, if you didn't believe me when I told you before that my hair gets unevenly, unnecessarily, lighter in the summer - believe it now. We've moved from lighter shades of brown to the inevitable red-tints which are appearing quite timely for this season. Sigh, what can you do?

Also, since this needs a sweeping declaration. I finally finished rewatching all 6 seasons of Gossip Girl -- and let me tell you -- the identity of GG still doesn't make sense. (note: the non-spoiler in case you are well, 2 years behind)

I'm thinking Game of Thrones is next. Also, don't hate me, but I tried 'Orange Is The New Black' and it's just not me! Any other TV suggestions, preferably ones that I can binge watch on Netflix or Amazon Prime?
