MIXED PRINT WINTER STYLE

TOP: J.CREW - SAME HERE - $30  //  BOYFRIEND JEANS: AEO - SIMILAR HERE - $30  //  D'ORSAY PUMPS: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $40  //  KATE SPADE BAG: KATE SPADE - SAME HERE - $150  //  LEOPARD BELT: NORDSTROM - SIMILAR HERE - $5  //  OXBLOOD SCARF: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $4

I couldn't decide on a print. Can you tell? Layering is essential for cold weather, but laying prints is a bold move [pun intended]. I mixed stripes (thin and thick) + solid dark + leopard and guess what, I loved it! This look was so comfortable and not to mention, stylish - if I may say so myself.

PASTELS FOR FALL

CASHMERE SWEATER: H&M - SIMILAR HERE - $70   //   TRIBAL PASTEL SKIRT: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $38   //   NUDE D'ORSAY HEELS: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $47   //   PASTEL STATEMENT NECKLACE: eBAY - SIMILAR HERE - $30

Well, this was probably the last time i'll be able to wear a skirt without tights this year. This weekend somehow Atlanta turned into Boston and temperatures dropped near freezing. Now the nights and mornings require some serious layers + I'm a naturally cold person so... there's that. This is going to be a long winter.

I started reading The Switch, from a recommender that said the book tackles areas of opportunity in your professional life that relate well to personal life. So far, the book has been promising. It focuses a lot on change and the challenges that come with. It's really hitting close to come because there is a lot of change happening in my life right now. Positive change. Exciting things. But, I can't help shake the feeling of uncertainty. While I don't usually share much of my personal life on the blog, i've dealt with anxiety my entire life, and some times are worse than others. My mind becomes scattered with what-ifs, my body trembles with angst, and there is a unsteady pacing in my heart. I know that change is good - particularly this kind, but it's also incredibly scary. I'm hoping this book will continue to provide insights that I can apply to different areas of my life. Stay tuned for a full review.

Have you read any great books lately?

WHITE LINEN SKIRT + CHAIN BIB NECKLACE

BLOUSE: KOHL'S - SIMILAR HERE & HERE - $40   //   LINEN SKIRT: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $35   //   NUDE D'ORSAY HEELS: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $80   //   CLUTCH: eBAY - SAME HERE - $5   //   CHAIN BIB NECKLACE (COURTNEY): PURPLE PERIDOT - SAME HERE - $26

I've been so into the the dark wine lipstick these days, that I forgot how great a simple red can look - especially on a bold color like blue. This is one of my favorite tops that I picked up a few years ago at Kohls from the Apt. 9 collection, the way it flows on me really works for my body style and the $20 price tag didn't hurt either. BUT the real stunner here is the Chain Bib Necklace from Purple Peridot. Baublebar has a similar necklace called the "Courtney" that is about 3x the cost of this one, but equally as divine. My girlfriend, Kirsten, was wearing it when we went to the Suja Juice event a few weeks ago, over a casual grey sweater and skinny jeans -- I fell in love with it!

Fashion inspiration can come from anywhere, but the best is when it comes from your girlfriends-- thanks Kirsten!
