HIPSTER CHIC

TOP: AMERICAN EAGLE - SIMILAR HERE - $20   //   BOYFRIEND JEANS: AMERICAN EAGLE - SAME HERE - $35   //   BALLET FLATS: J.CREW - SAME HERE - $44   //   LOCKET NECKLACE: VERA BRADLEY - SAME HERE - $38   //   PURSE: KATE SPADE TOTE IN 'BRIGHT BERLY' - SIMILAR HERE - (ON SALE!) $166   //   HIPSTER GLASSES - SIMILAR HERE - $10

Talk about a different look! The leftover waves that I created with my HerStyler curling wand were great for this center-parted casual look. The colors of the summer are really starting to wear on my hair, everyday it tends to get lighter and lighter. (If Fall doesn't come soon, I might end up blonde).

The glasses were a gift from my in-laws who take annual trips to China. I love when they bring back quirky little things! While it was my fiance who requested the nonprescription glasses, I quickly stole them when he rendered them too girly. Score! The glasses like to make an appearance on casual evenings.. or when i'm in the mood for a different look.

Have you ever worn nonprescription glasses?

DASHING STRIPES

Striped Sweater: F21 - Similar Here - $20   //   Boyfriend Jeans: AEO - Same Here - $45   //
Red Wallet: Onlineshoes.com - Same Here - $88   //   Nude Heels: F21 - Similar Here - $50

Happy Memorial Day weekend! This look is ready for the casual weekend ahead which for me will be enticed with family, friends, food, and fun. I've wanted a pair of boyfriend jeans for years, but somehow the fit was never right. When I stumbled upon these "straight" jeans from AEO, the fit was more "boyfriend" on me. The subtle deconstruction keeps the look casual, and perfect for what I was looking for.

Enjoy the weekend lovelies, I hope your glass stays full, the sunshine remains endless, and your bbq grill stays lit.

ARMY STRONG - 30X30 - Day 4

Green Vest: Old Navy - Same Here - $50 // Boots - Same Here - c/o OnlineShoes.com - $160 //
Boyfriend Jeans - Same Here - $30 // Nike Fuelband Rose Gold - Same Here - $169 // Top: Express - Same Here - $35

It's Day 4 of my 30 x 30 challenge and so far it is still going strong. I have learned a few things along the way and here is one. I realized that when I picked out the 30 pieces I wanted, they were the ones I had been wearing often and were on my mind. Now that I am trying to put those pieces together into outfits, i'm realizing that I have already worn so many of the outfits that could have been part of my 30 x 30. Here are a few of my favorites:

Of course, I cannot repeat as per the 30 x 30 Style Challenge Rules or else the Style Gods will frown upon this (or just Kendi). Lesson here? Choose your 30 different items, then your usual to be a part of the challenge.

PRETTY IN POLKA DOTS: B&W Polka Dot Sweater + Pink Scarf

Polka Dot Sweater: F21 - Same Here - $22
Skinny Jeans: AEO - Same Here - $35 (40% off)
Rain Boots: Kohls - Same Here - $50
Scarf: Purchased in Spain - Similar Here - $24

No one believed me when I told them that I was wearing rain boots. I don't blame them either. I had my heart set on Hunters for the longest time, but I didn't think that it rained enough in Atlanta to justify such a deep purchase (then the weather Gods gave us a monsoon summer.) After that, I realized I had to get a pair. When I saw these online at Kohls for under $50, I knew they were the ones. These boots are lightweight, stylish, and very easy to clean. They don't weigh you down so you can even keep them on all day, instead of just wearing them to and from your destination. I feel pretty good about this purchase and have a feeling i'm going to get a lot of use out of them with how Atlanta seems to be turning into Forks, Washington recently...
(a little Twilight humor, I apologize.)

If you follow me on social media, you know that I was recently announced the winner of the OnlineShoes.com Monthly Blogger Style Contest! I wanted to officially thank all of the voters, for supporting me in this challenge. You guys are seriously the best :)

FAUX FUR FEVER: Fur + Leather

Faux Fur Sweatshirt: A&E - Similar Here - $48

Black Pants: LC at Kohls - Similar Here - $42

Black Boots: Guess - Similar Here - $80

Confession time, I wore this outfit a wee bit too early. With no exaggeration, at least 7 people told me "You know it's not that cold outside." Yah, I get it. We live in Atlanta when it's freezing in April and 80 degrees in October. Well, truth be told I couldn't wait to slip into this fuzzy warm pullover. Sure I was a little warm, but hell, I was comfy.
