DAMASK OF MAGNAMINTY

DRESS: H&M - SIMILAR HERE - $35   //   WEDGES: DSW - SAME HERE - $99   //   BAG: KATE SPADE - SAME HERE - $256   //   NECKLACE: c/o ROCKSBOX (Enter promo code simplysabrinaxoxo at checkout for your first month free!)

When I first bought these heels before my trip to NYC earlier this month, I was afraid I wouldn't get as much out of them as my other brown summer heels. Lucky for me, I was mistaken. I'm so happy that i've found ways to incorporate black into my wardrobe again, especially to break up the monotony of my 17 pairs of brown heels.

Have you broken a fashion habit lately?

I finally get it. I understand why people hire wedding planners. I still wouldn't do it... but I understand why. As if being four months away from the biggest event in my entire life wasn't enough stress, planning every detail of the big day gets overwhelming to say the least. The idea of outsourcing this to a professional sounds well, perfect... for someone who isn't as meticulous as I am. I don't even trust my own research, let alone someone else's. I am constantly on the hunt for a better deal or more creative look. But lucky for me, I have ten amazing ladies who will be standing by my side to help me with my big day(s)!

I read somewhere that in order to make wedding planning more manageable do two things: 1) find a pretty location to work out those pesky details with your fiance (think lakeside) and 2) learn to delegate. I can honestly say that I am working on them both.

I can't wait to share more details of the wedding with all of you, in the meantime i'd love your advice! What was the hardest part of wedding planning for you?

SUNNY SIDE UP: Metallic Sweater + Yellow Pencil Skirt

Happy Friday lovelies, I hope you all had a fantastic week and are looking forward to an even better one ahead. I've got a few things on my plate for the weekend including car shopping (fingers crossed) i've been in need, after my car accident last month. I'm also planning on playing catch up on my Engagement album which I have still not put together and hoping to get started on reading Divergent over the weekend. Have you read the book? Thoughts? What are your weekend plans?

RUNNING 101 - 30X30 - Day 28

Polka Dot Sweater: Forever 21 - Similar Here - $43   //   Mustard Skirt: H&M - Similar Here -  $28   //
Heels: JLO for Kohls - Same Here - $30   //   Necklace - eBay   //   Belt: Fiore - Similar Here - $32

I went for my longest/furthest run yesterday and am very proud of myself. As a dancer, running is something that I have never able to do. My stamina and endurance is just not there (although I can dance for 3 hours straight) The last time I ran was freshman year of high school in P.E., so attempting to run without being forced was certainly a reality check of adulthood. Regardless, i've been working towards increasing my distance and decreasing my time. Here are a few things i've learned:
  1. Run outside - It's so much easier then being on a treadmill. If you are anything like me then you will likely get bored and that makes running that much harder, especially when starting out.
  2. Start Small - When you start any workout regime it's important to know your limits. Walk/Run and it's okay if you walk more than you run. As you progress, you will start to see a shift. Give it time.
  3. Get An App - It's so great to be able to track your progress. I use 2 apps simultaneously (there is a reason I promise) Nike Run - which syncs with my Fuelband and 5K Runner
  4. Use 5k Runner - After an initial week of running, start using a 5k training app. I use 5k Runner but there are plenty of options. This app's program progresses with you and gives guidance on when to speed up and run or slow down and walk. I've in my second week of the program and highly recommend it.
  5. Commit - There are 7 days in the week, commit to going for a run for 3 of them. Start with 20 minutes and work your way up. You could watch half a tv show or go for a run in 20 minutes, which is a better use of your time?

This weather is ideal for learning to run. As the days get longer, the evening will be the best time for you to get outdoors. You will want to start building habits now that can carry you into warmer months.

Do you have any suggestions for someone who is starting to run? I'd love your advice!

ALL STRIPE EVERTHING - 30X30 - Day 25

Top: Express - Same Here (Sold Out) - $35   //   Striped Skirt - F21 - Similar Here - $12   //
Black Pumps - JLo Kohls - Same Here - $28   //  Bag: Kate Spade - Similar HereHere, or Here  - $158

I've come to find that I love stripes. I just do. It's crazy how one pattern manages to never go out of style. My favorite fall bag (Kate Spade here), mini skirt, and winter coat are all black & white stripes. I'm a total fashion mess when I forget and wear them all together (oops!)

Women splurge on different things. Some of us are shoe people, some jewelry people, and others are handbag people. I don't generally find myself investing in mid to high priced shoes or jewelry because I like changing it up often and having a variety. Handbags are one thing that I do invest in. I believe a good handbag should last you two seasons and therefore should be able to transcend from winter to spring or summer to fall.

Kate Spade was my splurge, what was your latest?

HALFWAY THERE - 30X30 - Day 15

Top: Old Navy - Similar Here - $40   //   Midi Skirt: Asos - Similar Here & Here - $33   //
Heels: JLO for Kohls - Same Here - $30   //   Bag: Kate Spade - Similar Here, Here, or Here  - $158

It's Saturday, and I normally don't posts on Saturdays - but this outfit was too cute not to share. I'm starting to realize that with so many monochromatic colors in my 30 x 30 wardrobe, accessories really are key. My fuel band is seamlessly fitting into my daily wardrobe which is a definite plus.
(Review on that coming soon)

I'm off for a quick getaway today - but come back and visit tomorrow evening when I share our proposal story for the first time.
