NAVY SHIFT DRESS

NAVY SHIFT DRESS: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $54   //   RED BRAIDED BELT: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $11   //   BROWN BOOTIES: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $68

I've been growing out my hair for as long as I can remember. My hair has always grown slowly, so i've treasured the length since high school. With my wedding only a few month away (oh my gosh!) I am so excited to have my hair beautifully done. However, i'm even more excited for one thing (post wedding) ---my haircut! I've been eyeing the 'clavicut' for months years! It will quite literally be the first thing I do after the wedding - maybe even before the honeymoon.

BLUE CHECKERED SHIFT DRESS: The Recipe For a Simply Stylish Outfit

DRESS: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $29   //    FLAP CROSSBODY • c/o VERA BRADLEY • $78   //
GUESS HEELS - SIMILAR HERE - $150   //   BRACELETS - VERA BRADLEY in IN THE MIX & WRAPPED LINKS - SAME HERE & HERE- $42   //   NECKLACE: AMERICA'S MART

I fished this dress out from the back of my closet and was really excited to find the way it fit. This fall, i'm really being drawn to navy as the base of my wardrobe. Adding elements of bold colors really helps make my outfit more vibrant, and this pink crossbody is no exception. The mint statement necklace matches the gold hardware of the open toe sandals for a classic finish.

It's so simple to add dimension to your basic outfits. I like to choose a bold color scheme first and then find elements to compliment my outfit using that color scheme in mind. If the dress is navy, a hot pink hue can be in the form of a purse, scarf, belt, heel, or jewelry. The possibilities are endless, give it a shot sometime!

A CUTE PAIR OF RAINBOOTS FROM JOULES

BOOTS: c/o JOULES USA - SAME HERE - $141   //   DRESS: F21 - SAME HERE - $25   //   BELT: F21 - SIMILAR HERE  - $12

I was so excited to receive these boots from Joules USA. I seriously had them on only 5 minutes before someone complimented me on them. They have the quality of traditional Wellies without the bulk or heat that those boots radiate. Rainy days in the south tend to get muggy so wearing rain boots all day can be a challenge. After I put these on, I forgot that I was wearing rain boots (that is, until people kept asking me where they were from! :) I always thought I wanted a pair of Hunters, but could never find the right size for me. Being petite, finding the right rain boot can be a challenge on it's own. A rain boot should hit 1-2 inches below the knee, and this Joules pair does just that. I can't wait to wear this throughout the rainy season, we in the A, like to call Winter.

SHIFT STYLE NAVY SHIRT DRESS

DRESS: F21 - SAME HERE - $25   //   BELT: F21 - SIMILAR HERE - $28   //   GREEN CLUTCH: EBAY - SAME HERE - $5   //
HEELS: LC BY LAUREN CONRAD AT KOHLS - SIMILAR HERE - $40
“Devotion,” Robert Frost
The heart can think of no devotion
Greater than being shore to the ocean –
Holding the curve of one position,
Counting an endless repetition.

I'm not the biggest fan of poetry. However, every so often there will be a quote or prose that catches my eye and this is one that I felt I had to share. In true poetry fashion, interpretation is always subjective. I took this poem to define devotion through symbolism of the relationship of the waves to the ocean. The constant push back-and-forth is everlasting but never tiresome. I believe that true devotion is not constantly titillating or new. It's an endless number of devout acts, most repetitive, done out of love and loyalty.

Happy Friday.

Are you sick of seeing these heels yet? Because it seems like I never get sick of wearing this. Leopard really is the new neutral and I love being able to rock these babies with just about any outfit (even prints!) I'm hoping that this week will fly by because I will be traveling to Philadelphia to visit my sister with my fiance this weekend. We haven't traveled for a while, so it will be a nice change of pace getting out of town and exploring a city that we have never been to before. MIXING PRINTS

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Mine was as always far too short and not nearly as productive as I wanted it to be, but all's well that ends well. This dress was a gift from my sweet (future) brother-in-law for Christmas and i've been loving wearing it a few different ways. Shift dresses paired with wedges shift the ensemble from cushy to casual. Try it out!

Tomorrow will be Part 2 of my 'Ditch The Black' series, be sure to keep up and stop by!
