HOW TO WEAR COLORED TIGHTS FOR FALL

A few years ago, one of my favorite bloggers, Sydney from The Daybook, rocked the most gorgeous purple tights in a Fall styled outfit. Since then, it's been on my mind. How to wear colored tights for me? Last year, I experimented with navy tights and I think it went pretty well. Feeling ambitious, I ordered a pair of wine & hunter green tights to add some color to my fall wardrobe and this is what I've learned:

1. Pair colored tights with skirts, dresses, or long tops

Shorts and tights are a big no. Just stop, never, don't do it.

2. Make sure the tights are visible.

If you are wearing a longer top, like the one above, opt for shorter boots to really display the color. Shorter dress? Go ahead with your tall boots. It's all about proportion.

3. Treat your tights like an accessory

Just because you're wearing colored tights, doesn't mean you need to always wear solids. In my Navy Tights post from last year, I paired it with a printed dress. Here, I chose a white top but complemented it with bold accessories! Balance your outfit with a mix of neutrals and prints.

It's been a very long weekend. Holidays in our culture fall right around the middle of July and with that comes lots of food & family (totally not complaining!) But...what I wouldn't give for just a day in bed watching a New Girl marathon. Sigh.. Aside from my state of sheer exhaustion,  I am excited for my wedding portraits this weekend! I'll never forget my first Alex & Ani bracelets. It was my 19th birthday and I went to visit my sister in Boston. She introduced me to this amazing little jewelry boutique on Newbury Street, Alex & Ani. We walked into this cute little shop with beautiful symbols all over the walls and eloquently written explanations about what they stood for. My sister told me to pick out one of their signature bracelets for my birthday. I spent over an hour in the store and ultimately ended up choosing two because I sincerely couldn't pick my favorite. Thanks sis!

Fast forward a number of years, and here we are. I was so excited to collaborate with Alex and Ani and introduce a new group of ladies to this incredible brand. Alex and Ani creates eco-conscious jewelry that is manufactured in America with sustainable materials. The brand promotes mindfulness as each symbol is a representation of a greater concept. I chose the Quill Feather Wrap, Snake Coil Wrap, & Love Wrap because I felt like they represented essential moments in my life this year. Love was an easy pick because of my upcoming nuptials this year. The snake coil embraces change, as this year is monumental for me with our new home, and of course, my new husband. Lastly, I chose the quill feather which represents a pure heart, which the ancient Egyptians believed weighed as "light as a feather"
