Stylist's Secrets: How To Wear Yoga Pants To Work

Brokenhearted by Karmin
(there's no relevance, it's just a catchy song)

Hey guys today is the start of a new series called "Stylist's Secrets" where I will share tidbits of information on how to make your wardrobe simply & chic.

Top: Gifted, Yoga Pants: Gilly Hicks, Shoes: GoJane (distraction piece)

Disclaimer: This look won't work for everyone, if you wear a suit on the daily- you may have to be reconsider (or learn to be very sneaky)

I work in the advertising world. It's a fun, creative, and relaxed environment where everyday is jean day. I'm normally one of the more overdressed employees (not that I mind) but some days getting out of bed is a struggle and my bed is just so comfy. These are the days where we learn to master the art of yoga pants.

Here are the rules:
  1. Always pair the yoga pants with a LONG top, the backside view is cute at the gym, but certainly not appropriate for the workplace.
  2. Since the bottom is tighter I like to add balance by wearing a looser top.
  3. Always wear a distraction piece. (What's that? See below) The goal is to get others to compliment one piece of your outfit & forget to question the rest.
Distraction Piece: (noun) An article of clothing or jewelry that will distract an onlooker from your otherwise lack of style that particular day.

Do you ever wear loungewear to work?
How do you do it?
