Before the clock strikes 12, I wanna share my first ever Tuesday Treat with you! These are young-adult, college, or busy parent friendly recipes that generally have less than 5 distinct ingredients. Check back every Tuesday for a new recipe!
This week I made: A Baked Cheese Ziti
(This recipe serves 10 single servings;
Prep Time: 7 minutes; Cook time 30 minutes)
Ingredients Needed:
1 bag of Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Italian Seasoning (fresh or packaged)
1 box of Ziti or Penne pasta
Croutons or Bread Crumbs
Favorite Pasta Sauce
Instructions:
1. Add Virgin Olive Oil and Salt to the water before bringing it to a boil and adding Ziti
2. As Ziti is cooking, prepare your sauce. Take a mixing bowl and mix together your favorite pasta sauces. I used Ragu's Tomato & Basil and Ragu's 6 Cheese Blend. Then add some shredded Mozzarella cheese and Italian seasonings (parsley, oregano, etc)
3. Strain Ziti and let cool a little
4. As Ziti is cooling you can prepare your bread crumbs, if you bought breadcrumbs then you can skip this step. If not take a ziplock bag and add between 10-15 croutons. Crush the croutons & voilĂ :
Bread Crumbs
5. In your large mixing bowl combine the pasta with the sauce and mix thoroughly.
6. Layer your Ziti into a glass baking pan. Top the pasta with more Mozzarella cheese and cover with bread crumbs.
7. Bake for 15-20 minutes on 325 degrees until cheese is melted.
Enjoy!
