WHAT TO WEAR TO A WEDDING: Part Two (Formal)

1   //   2   //   3   //   4   //   5
I hope you guys enjoyed my post last week about semi-formal wedding attire. This week I wanted to cover what exactly formal attire means when it comes to dressing for a wedding. A formal dress code is often synonymous with "Black-Tie Optional", they are interchangeable when addressing wedding attire. My interpretation of a formal dresscode include maxi or floor length dresses that compliment the theme of the wedding, without forcing it (read between the lines: don't match the bridesmaids)

Formal Wedding Attire Dress Code:
-Floor length or below knee dress
-Chose flowy fabrics for daytime events and a more structured silhouette for evening
-Monotone dresses are best, but a texture or pattern is fine as well as long as you aren't boasting large colorful formals
-Pick one piece of statement jewelry, either a stunning bracelet, unique necklace, or dazzling earrings

Ways to play it up:
Maxi dresses are everywhere these days, but the right one for a formal event is the perfect hybrid between evening gown and summer maxi. Pick a dress with a unique back design, neckline, or sleeve pattern to set yourself apart!

I hope this was helpful! Tune in next Friday for Part Three! We will be covering the "Black-Tie" Wedding Attire Dress Code.
