WEEKEND STYLE: Jeans & a T-shirt

The weekends are reserved for jeans & t-shirt combinations, and this week was no different. I loved styling this royal blue top with cuffed jeans. Since i'm short, i'm not usually one to roll up jeans but these shoes deserve the attention. Baker's did a great job bringing back the gladiator style sandal with a fresh twist and I found these beauties for less than $20 at a store closing sale in my area. As always, I love a pop of color and this turquoise necklace did the trick!

P.S. I've been working on mastering the fishtail braid, today was a messy rendition. Anyone else planning to rock the fishtail this summer? (I promise it's easier then it looks!)

Today's post is inspired by one of my favorite designers, Lauren Conrad. I have to admit that I never shopped at Kohl's until Conrad's collection debuted there in fall of 2009. It's always tough to identify one celebrity who is your "Style Twin," but Lauren is definitely mine. She pairs up tough pieces like leather with lace and floral which make for an unpredictable combination. This post is inspired by an older collection of hers from 2010, which featured some elements of my outfit here. The grey leather jacket is the perfect compromise of "subtle rocker" and when paired with some open toe pumps and a sweet floral dress it's a springtime masterpiece. See my inspiration below:
