You know those people who always complain about their hair? If you have straight hair you want curly hair, if you have curly you would die for straight. Yeah, i'm not one of them. I am one of the few who love my natural hair. I'm blessed with unfrizzy very sleek hair that is pretty cooperative- especially because I love styling my hair different ways (curls, braids, buns, etc).

A few months ago I decided to put a bit of color in my otherwise monotonous dark do' with a subtle touch of highlights on the bottom 1/3 of my hair. The goal was to get some dimension when I curl or braid my hair. Normally, as soon as I make a change to my hair - I regret it. Cut it short, immediately miss it long. Dye it light, wish it was dark. You get the gist. But for some odd reason, I've been pretty satisfied with this decision. Except, I recently remembered that my hair gets lighter in the summer. My natural hair does it and the color-treated part is especially sensitive to it! With spring underway, I can expect my subtle highlights to have a mind of their own. So if you notice strands of blonde, you know why.

CASUAL FRIDAY - 30X30 - Day 14

Grey Tunic: F21 - Similar Here - $45 // Pants: LC by Lauren Conrad - Similar Here - $45 //
Faux Fur Vest: F21 - Similar Here - $34 // Boots - Same Here - c/o OnlineShoes.com - $160

Casual Friday. The good, the bad, and the ugly of transitioning seasons.

The good: Change. As much as I love my leggings and boots, i'm looking forward to peep toe shoes and flared summer dresses. This winter has been an incredibly long one, and i'm ready for some sunshine.
The bad: Sniffles. When seasons change, I inevitably get sick. I've been holding out for a while now, but consider this my official jinx. I'll be bedridden next week.
The ugly: Layers. You can never be prepared for the weather in times like this. It's freezing in the morning, hot in the afternoon, and a complete toss up at night. I don't know about you, but i'm ready to soak up the sun.

I'll be going away with my fiance for the weekend, but wanted to share something special with you all. This Sunday is the anniversary of the day that Sahir proposed a year ago. Come visit on Sunday for my first time telling the complete proposal story.

LACEY BUSINESS - 30X30 - Day 12

Do you ever feel like you've gotten to the point where you feel just utterly overwhelmed? Like there are 5,406 things on your plate and you just need a bigger freakin' plate. That's how i've been feeling. The advice that I always give to others who have told me they felt this way is to make a list, and cross things out -even the small things. "This will help you feel accomplished and therefore encourage productivity!" I should really learn to listen to myself. There are a number of things that I want to accomplish this year, and I think I need to start doing them and get the ball rolling. I should also stop binge "Netflix-ing" (Webster, is this a word? It should be.) I guess the first step is to make a list... good thing I bought that pretty Kate Spade planner.

Any suggestions for getting things done? How do you organize your life? Suggestions are appreciated!

ON THE HUNT: Hunter Green Vest

White Top: AEO - Similar Here - $9
Green Vest: Old Navy - Same Here - $50
Pants: LC by Lauren Conrad - Similar Here - $45
Clark's indigo Boots in Tan Leather:
c/o OnlineShoes.com - Same Here - $160

For someone who is morally opposed to wearing camo, this is the closest that I will get to rocking military chic. When I was shopping this weekend for everyone else except me, I found this vest at Old Navy and was sold. The gold hardware really makes the vest pop and I knew I had to have it. Also, you probably notice the lack of black boots here, well, thanks to you guys voting and OnlineShoes.com I have plenty of new shoes to rock this season. These Clarks are the perfect height, color, and comfort level, completely worth it.

Tomorrow, i'll be upgrading your holiday gifts - so be sure to stop by to see what gifts NOT to give this season!

BLUE COWBOY: FALL RIDING BOOTS

Top: Borrowed (thanks Sis!), Pants: Love21, Boots: DSW, Earrings: c/o Kore Luxe

Have you ever had a challenge that you really wanted to try, but are almost
positive that you would fail miserably? The prize may be meager or it may be
marvelous, but the real satisfaction is proving to yourself that you can do it.
I seem to have a list of these lining up and while New Year's seems to be the
most realistic timeframe to start a new challenge, I want to try it sooner.
Let's call it, the "End of the year Resolution" the "EOTYR."
(that's not going to catch on, is it?)

My EOTYR is to attempt the 30x30 Remix. The remix challenge was started by
the fabulous blogger Kendi Everyday. The rules are simple – 30 items of clothing
(including shoes, not including accessories), 30 distinct outfits, 30 days, and
to add insult to injury: no shopping. The challenge is part of a bigger goal, to
create a “Working Closet” that fits your life and helps you cut back on impulse
buys, encourage creativity, and stop emotional shopping binges
-- you know, my weakness.

I'm aiming for November.
What's your EOTYR?
