It's crazy how quickly fashion changes. Not just for clothing, but jewelry as well. Last year I swear I purchased at least 12 statement necklaces about this time of year. This year, I see myself gravitating towards the same pieces and decided that maybe I need a jewelry refresh. Small delicate pieces are very much in style right now. My favorite thing to do is to layer the pieces (as seen here & here). Here are some of my favorite gold jewelry pieces that are perfect for layering (and under $50)
A few years ago, one of my favorite bloggers, Sydney from The Daybook, rocked the most gorgeous purple tights in a Fall styled outfit. Since then, it's been on my mind. How to wear colored tights for me? Last year, I experimented with navy tights and I think it went pretty well. Feeling ambitious, I ordered a pair of wine & hunter green tights to add some color to my fall wardrobe and this is what I've learned:
1. Pair colored tights with skirts, dresses, or long tops
Shorts and tights are a big no. Just stop, never, don't do it.
2. Make sure the tights are visible.
If you are wearing a longer top, like the one above, opt for shorter boots to really display the color. Shorter dress? Go ahead with your tall boots. It's all about proportion.
3. Treat your tights like an accessory
Just because you're wearing colored tights, doesn't mean you need to always wear solids. In my Navy Tights post from last year, I paired it with a printed dress. Here, I chose a white top but complemented it with bold accessories! Balance your outfit with a mix of neutrals and prints.
That's it! Go Wild! How will you wear your colored tights?

Confession time. I bought this skirt a few months ago, and I've been dying to wear it ever since! It finally made it's way into my wardrobe when I wore it out to my best friend's birthday celebration this weekend. I wish the exact skirt was still available, but as all good things from Forever 21 - they quickly vanish. The a-line detail brings a feminine touch to this otherwise, stark leather skirt, and pretty much guarantees that I'm going to live in it all season. I paired it with a satin top from H&M and of course, my Clare V Leopard Clutch! We fought the rain to shoot this look (If you look closely you can see raindrops on me!) but hopefully the rainy weather detours this week, because i'm ready to enjoy the crisp Fall weather!
CHAMBRAY BLOUSE: FRANCHESA'S COLLECTION - SIMILAR HERE - $23 // DISTRESSED JEANS: TARGET - SAME HERE - $30 // HEELS: LC BY LAUREN CONRAD FOR KOHLS - SIMILAR HERE - $104 // EARRINGS: KENDRA SCOTT - SAME HERE - $65 // BAG: c/o VERA BRADLEY - SAME HERE - $266
I'll admit it, this outfit was risky. Denim + Chambray, not to mention two light shades, is certainly not for everyone. That being said, these are two of my favorite pieces in my closet and I couldn't decide which one to go with - so I picked both! These distressed jeans have a price tag just too good to pass up. Jeans under $30? Steal. I picked them up on a recent trip to Target that started with me running in to get a greeting card and ended up staying for two hours, naturally.
I decided to pair this outfit with one of the best Fall bags! This calf-hair cheetah print satchel from Vera Bradley is literally the perfect size. I think fashion has been fickle with bag sizing lately. Two years ago, the bigger the better! More recently, the mini cross-body bags have been all of the runways. With the fashion changing so fast, it's important to choose investment pieces.
So here it is denim + chambray. What's the verdict?
